Top overseas students are given the Boston University Merit Scholarships. Additionally, students’ applications to BU will be fully considered if they speak out against injustices in meaningful and useful ways.

While eligibility requirements differ for each grant, Boston University Merit Scholarship recipients typically:

  1. 5% of their high school class should be in the top
    have demonstrated outstanding extracurricular accomplishments in their communities and schools.
  2. ACT scores of at least 33 and SAT scores of at least 1500 (Not a necessary requirement)
  3. All merit awards and other scholarships are open to qualifying non-citizens, permanent residents, and citizens of the United States.
