2023: Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program for Africans at the University of Rwanda

For the University of Rwanda’s 2022–2023 Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, which aims to provide young, educated Africans with access to higher education despite their economic disadvantage, applications are now being accepted from appropriately qualified African applicants.

The Mastercard Foundation scholarship program is dedicated to creating the next generation of ethical and transformative leaders in Africa who will have a positive impact on the future of their individual countries and the whole continent.

Mastercard Foundation and The University of Rwanda are the sponsors of this scholarship.

University of Rwanda’s Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program | Requirements:

Applicants must fulfill the following criteria in order to be selected for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program in Rwanda:

  1. Candidates must have earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in a subject area relevant to the University of Rwanda master’s program they are applying for.
  2. Be an African or Rwandan citizen (refugees must be certified by UNHCR, MINEMA, or another legal agency).
  3. At the time of application, a male applicant cannot be older than 40, and a female applicant cannot be older than 45.
  4. Applicants must provide proof of their extreme social, financial, or medical needs or disabilities.
  5. Must have a track record of community involvement and leadership (s).
  6. The applicant must not be currently enrolled in another postsecondary institution.
